We wrapped up the 5th annual Widen Summit a few weeks ago and have been hard at work ever since (and even before!) on updates to the Widen Collective, Portals, and Workflow. Stay tuned in late October when there will be a couple new connectors available to you. Read on to learn more about what we have in store for you in the 10.5 release!
Download From Share Links Now Available
When you share links for assets with others, including links for videos, you now choose to allow the assets to be downloaded.
New PDF Share Links and Embed Codes Options
Google scans PDF files for text and adds those files to its search index. For SEO purposes, the share link and embed code options for PDFs now include a Document View — PDF option. Embedding of this file allows the original PDF to found during Google searches.
New in Portals (Early Release)
In portals you can now:
Allow people you invite to a portal to edit or only view the portal. They’ll see different actions in the portal depending on what you allow them to do.
Allow downloads of up to 200 assets from the portal from the Download All button
Resolved Portals Issues
The issue with the access code prompt redirecting you to the login page has been resolved.
The issue with full-screen videos in public portals not displaying correctly has been resolved.
New in Widen Workflow (Early Release)
In Widen Workflow, you can now include deliverables as part of projects. Deliverables are output pieces of projects, like postcards, table tents, and booklets. For each deliverable, you can choose proofs and route those proofs as part of the project. Projects can have one deliverable or multiple deliverables.
All deliverables for a project are listed underneath the project on the Workflow dashboard.
Other Updates and Resolved Issues
Assets can now be downloaded from search results exports, a new Download Link column has been added to CSV exports, and it includes a link to the asset
In Insights exports, you will now see the intended use entered when users select “Other”
Metadata fields can be used across multiple metadata types; therefore, duplicate metadata field labels can no longer be created
The issue with transparency being removed when images are cropped has been resolved.
The issue with deselecting collections in search results actually adding assets to the Selection panel has been resolved.
The issue with assets shared via email for different roles taking users to different pages has been resolved.
