With the Administrate Share Links permission, you're able to create share links and embed codes, which can help you quickly share assets with others. Create as many share links and embed codes as needed for the many different ways your team or group shares assets. For embed codes, one or both sides of assets can be dynamically sized based on the original asset's aspect ratio.
Share links and embed codes can be created from the Share button in search results, Quick View, and the Asset Details page. They can also be created in the Admin app.
Image share links and embed codes
You'll see two default sizes for share links and embed codes for images:
- 640px (landscape)
- 360px (portrait)
You can remove them or keep them and create your own customized share links and embed codes. Custom links and codes display for those who have permission to access them.
Create your own share links and embed codes for images
You can create your own preset share links and embed codes for images from the Share button by selecting Create Your Own from the link size dropdown. You'll then see options to select to fix the width, height, or width and height of the image or select the width and height for the original image. By default, fixed width and height is selected.
You can also select an anchor location for the image, add a background color, and rotate it. Choose to save the image as a GIF, JPEG, or PNG and select from image quality, delivery, and display options. You can also allow the image to be downloaded.
If the image should be delivered over a secure connection, check "Use secure connection." To display the image as high-pixel density, check "Retina display." If you want others to be able to download the image, check "Show download button." ("Use secure connection" and "Show download button" are automatically checked; uncheck if security isn't an issue or if assets shouldn't be downloaded.)
After modifications are complete, click the Link or Embed tab to obtain a link or code, then click Copy to copy the code or save it as a preset for use.

Video share links and embed codes
Use share links or embed codes for videos to, for example, embed a video on a website or in a blog post, then copying and pasting the HTML text into a CMS or blog platform.
- The "Video with Player" option is the most common and allows users to see Insights.
- For more advanced users, the “Video (No Player)” option allows them to use Widen’s video hosting and build a video player user interface.
The “Video Thumbnail” option gives users an embed code for the video preview image.
To share a video with someone and allow them to simply view it, use the share link.
- Copy and paste it into an email and the person it's shared with will be able to view the video in their web browser.
- Use the "Video with Player and Download" option to include the ability to also download it.
Dynamically play videos
Video embed code sizes default to 640 x 360 px, but they are responsive to the size of the width of the device you're using. Adjust the size manually by changing the numbers in the HTML text.
Auto play videos
Video embed codes can also be modified to automatically play. Add the bolded string below to the location within the code:
<iframe src="//embed.widencdn.net/video/widen/qrxrfq38qg?u=ngfjwp&autoplay=true" width="640" height="360" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen allowtransparency="true" scrolling="no" ></iframe>
The Collective's video player will automatically detect a viewer's internet bandwidth and optimize playback of the video based on available internet speed. The viewer will see the best quality video that their internet connection allows, without interruption.
To view videos in HD, for Video (No Player) embed codes, change "sd" to "hd" in the bolded section in the code: http://embed.widencdn.net/stream/hd/widen/qrxrfq38qg/The-Widen-Experience.mp4?u=ngfjwp
