It's been quite a busy month at the Widen headquarters! Not only have we made a number of enhancements to the Widen Collective, as well as the early release of Portals and Workflow, but we're also busily preparing for the annual Widen Summit. In-App Chat Available Again!

We’ve re-enabled the chat functionality within the Widen Collective. Simply click the Chat Support button at the bottom of the page to chat with one of our Central Support Team members.



New in Portals (Early Release)

In portals you can now:


Resolved Portals Issue

  • The issue with deleting an asset in your Widen Collective when the image is included in a banner section in a portal and the portal not displaying has been resolved.

New in Widen Workflow (Early Release)

In Widen Workflow, you can now:

  • Keep all project members aligned by adding and sharing supporting files like creative briefs, slide decks, and font/typographical info associated with the proof when creating projects

  • Represent each round of proofing with a custom name and list of reviewers

  • Add clickable links when you’re commenting on a proof

  • Scroll through multiple-page proofs or enter a specific page number to jump to a page

  • Zoom in even further — up to 500% — to see fine details and read small text in proofs

  • Switch to quickly see previous proof versions for easy comparison

  • See a thread of the conversation in emails you’re mentioned in, giving you context to help you quickly respond

  • Make sure reviewers can’t see proofs that aren’t yet available. The View Proof button is lighter shade of blue if a proof isn’t available, and will change to indicate when one is.


We’ve also made updates to the Create Project form to make it even easier to upload proofs, assign reviewers, and route proofs, allowing for greater control and delegation of proofing activities by selecting what proof providers have permission to do.


New in Mobile

The mobile app and site login process have been updated. After you generate credentials in the Widen Collective, the email sent will now include an email address and a one-time registration code to use to log in after the app is installed. The registration code can only be used once and must be used within seven days of the email. If a new registration code is needed, you can create one from your user profile.



Resolved Mobile Issue

  • The issue where mobile site buttons were intermittently not working has been resolved.

Other Updates and Resolved Issues

  • The issue with drag-and-drop uploading of assets over 10 MB in size was resolved on August 19.

  • The issue with the assets with empty required metadata email including an incorrect link has been resolved.

  • The issue with batch editing metadata resulting in errors has been resolved.

  • The issue with Media Builder orders taking longer to process has been resolved.

  • The issue with spotlight collections disappearing from Dashboards has been resolved.


REST API Updates

A new endpoint that presents category information is now available in version 2.0.
