The amount of time files take to upload varies due to Internet bandwidth and possible firewall restrictions. Files uploaded to the Widen Collective are sent to Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) at Amazon Web Services (AWS). They upload in the VA (Virginia), U.S. location.

To test upload speeds:
2.  Under "What cloud services do you want to test?," check Content Delivery Networks (CDN).
3.  Click the Select link and check None to deselect all options.
4.  Check Amazon CloudFront in the list of CDN options.


5.  Under "What cloud services do you want to test?," check Cloud Servers.
6.  Click the Select link and check None to deselect all options.
7.  Check Amazon EC2 in the list of cloud server options.

 
8.  Under "What cloud services do you want to test?," check Cloud Storage.
9.  Click the Select link and check None to deselect all options.
10. Check Amazon S3 in the list of cloud storage options.

11. Under "What type of tests do you want to perform?," check all options (i.e., download a few large files, download many small files, test network latency and upload).
12. Under "What service regions do you want to test?," check US and Canada or any region closest to your location.
13. Click Start Test. The screen should look similar to this screen.
