With the Administrate Share Links permission, you can create share links and embed codes to help you quickly share assets with others. You may want to create global share links and embed codes for users to chose from to share to social networks, e-commerce sites, for WordPress, and more.

Share links and embed codes can be created from search results thumbnails, in Quick View, from the Asset Details page, and, if you're a Widen Collective admin, from the Share Links page in the Admin app. On the Share Links page, you can rename and delete links and embed codes, reorder the way they display, and select the location they display in.

Pre-determined default links and embed codes are available on the Share Links page; however, if you're an admin, you can remove pre-determined sizes and create custom links and codes as you need them.

Create your own share links and embed codes

To create share links and embed codes from search results thumbnails, Quick View, and the Asset Details page, click the Share button for an asset then select Create Your Own from the dropdown. Create and further customize the link and code, then save it as a preset for future use. When saving, add a name and choose where it can be seen and accessed by users.

Refer to this article for more details about creating your own share links and embed codes.

To create share links and embed codes from the Admin app, click Share Links in the left navigation under Order Settings. Create the link and code, then save it as a preset for use.

After they've been created, both will be available for users to select immediately.

Reorder and select where share links display

Existing links display on the Share Links page in the Admin app. Reorder how they display for users by dragging and dropping them into your preferred order.

When you want preset share links and embed codes to display only in certain locations, you can select those locations from the Share Links page in the Admin app. Links can display in:

  • Share buttons in search results thumbnails, Quick View, and on the Asset Details page
  • Collection share pages
  • The API (The API option displays only when the API feature is enabled.)

By default, all location display options will be checked when a link is created. Enable or disable a link’s visible location by selecting the on or off option on the Share Links page.
