This month’s release of the Widen Collective features the much-anticipated release of Templates, our web-to-print app, as well as some exciting enhancements to Portals and Workflow, updates to the Collective, new managed integrations with other apps that you can take advantage of, and additions to the API. Read on to see what's in store!
Launch of Templates!
Templates is a web-to-print solution to create branded materials on demand. Empower your marketing and sales teams to build localized or co-branded collateral using pre-defined templates – not design software.
Learn more about Templates on our home page and find instructions for creating and customizing templates in the new Templates area in the Support Center. Additional support articles will be added in the coming weeks.
By popular request, you can now duplicate a portal! Just select the Options menu for a portal, then Duplicate. The portals Live Editor opens for you to make any changes.
A few other updates for portals include:
Checkered transparency for all previews with transparent background
Extended permission settings for portals behind a login
Optimized EULA, Intended Use, and Download screens when viewing portals on your mobile device
The issue with users not seeing assets they have permission to view in a personal collection in a portal has been resolved.
The issue with share links that are downloaded returning a JPG regardless of type selected to be shared has been resolved.
The issue with banners resizing incorrectly in the Live Editor in standard portals has been resolved.
The issue with a checkered background not displaying for assets with transparent backgrounds in public portals has been resolved.
The latest release of Workflow includes updates to commenting on proofs, a change to proof provider and designer permissions, and an update to the user interface (UI) when you set up a newly created project.
You’ll see these updates when commenting on a proof:
Pins for comments instead of avatars. Drop a pin on the proof, then add your comment in the activity stream. Reviewers can click the pin to see the comment and reply to the comment from the activity stream.
A numbered marker for comments, both pinned and rectangle comments
More visibility of comments when you click on them in the activity stream
Designers can resolve comments as they address them by checking them off in the activity stream, similar to a task list. Reviewers and project managers can then see that their comments were resolved and see the progress designers are making on the proof.
For designers and proof providers, there’s now simply one permission, and that is Manage this deliverable. Checking that allows you to edit dates, reviewers, and the review timeline, as well as who can create a new round and close the deliverable.
When you create a project and need to set the project up, the panel to add a new deliverable will automatically display. The Needs Setup indicator points you over to the form so you know what needs to happen after creating the project.
