There’s quite a bit headed your way with this weekend’s release of version 11.1 of the Widen Collective. Look for updates to the user interface and bug fixes in the Collective, a new way to see storage in Insights, enhancements to export limits, and early release additions in Workflow and Portals. There are even updates to our API, as well. Interested in finding out more? Read on!
Find Assets is now Assets
As we add to the list of available apps in the Collective, we’re also updating some of the current app names. With this release, Find Assets is now, simply, Assets. You can continue to perform all the same activities within Assets that you did in Find Assets. The only thing new that you’ll see is the name!
Get Insights by Asset Group
To see how much storage space assets are taking in your site, you can now create Insights charts by asset group. Storage displays in GBs.
Export More Data
When you want to get more information about assets on your site, export that information from different areas of the site. We’ve increased the number of data rows that are exported for:
- Users, uploads, and orders from the Admin app. Export up to 20,000 rows of data.
- Search results in a CSV. Export up to 1.5 million rows of data
- Insights exports. Export up to 1.5 million rows of data.
When exports are under 10,000 rows, they'll be sorted by the date assets were added. A sort won't be applied when exports are over 10,000 rows.
Portals (Early Release)
Add Previews to Portals
For portals without previews, you'll now see a default preview with the name of the type of the portal on the dashboard. Set the portal preview by selecting a thumbnail for the portal.
Display EULAs and Collect Intended Use
When users want to download or share assets from a portal, you can now present a EULA to them and have them agree to the site's policy and terms before downloading or sharing.
You can also collect intended use when users download or share assets from portals.
Share Links, Embed Codes, and Direct Links
When users share an asset in a portal, they can choose to share links, embed codes, or direct links from a dropdown menu, then copy the share link, embed code, or direct link and share it with others.
Other Updates and Resolved Issues
The favicon that’s in your Collective site now displays when you’re on the Portals dashboard and in the public view of the portal. The title of the portal also displays in both locations.
A three-column section is included by default for all newly created brand portals.
Change the size of images you add to columns in brand portals and choose from small, medium, and large sizes. Images will be large by default and centered in the column.
Additional languages are now translated in portals.
Translated words that aren't available in a foreign language will be shown in English.
Only images can be used in portal banners, portal previews and thumbnails, and image areas.
The issue with documents and PDF files not being viewable in portals due to firewall settings has been resolved.
The issue with downloading assets with special characters in portals has been resolved.
The issue with Google fonts not displaying correctly in the public view of portals has been resolved.
The issue with users getting an unauthorized error message when accessing a public portal in has been resolved.
Workflow (Early Release)
You’ll see updates made in the Workflow app, including changes to the top navigation as well as the options you can take when uploading a proof.
We’ve made it easier for you to find what you need and to create and request projects in the top navigation in the Workflow app.
You can also now quickly see deliverables and the urgency in which proofs and set up are needed, as well as who will provide proofs.
Upload a Proof
When you click to upload a new proof, you can now specify a review due date or time or choose to keep the stage due date. This helps streamline the routing process when you’re adding a new proof.
